About the Sixth Form

Cleeve Sixth Form is a vibrant community of about 350 students, originating from the lower school, but also from many other schools including an increasing number from overseas. There is a wide diversity of ambitions, talent and course combinations. However, there is a common theme of high aspirations, high achievement and an endeavour to persevere.
Our Sixth Form is celebrated for its standards of academic excellence. We recognise success at our annual Achievements award Ceremony in October. The hard work of the students and high standards of teaching enable most of our students to go onto Higher Education or Art Foundation courses. We have high expectations of our students and they in turn learn to have high expectations of themselves. “The Sixth Form provides a good and effective education for its students”. OFSTED 2007.

Our academic success is only part of what makes our Sixth Form a special place to be. Students are encouraged to take part in a wide range of activities, all of which promote personal development and a growing self confidence. Our Sixth Form offers students opportunities to challenge themselves in many fields.

Students become involved in many charity and fundraising activities. Community service ranges from studying for the Sports Leader Award to running the Christmas party for our local senior citizens. All of our students are expected to serve the community in some way during their time at Cleeve. There are also several social events throughout the year, the highlight being the ball held in May.
We encourage our students to look forward to a future of career opportunities, so early emphasis is placed on guidance with Higher Education and Career choices. Sixth Form life is very demanding, so we offer you the pastoral support that you need to enable you to reach your potential in all aspects of your life whilst you are at Cleeve.

We expect you to leave Cleeve Sixth Form with good academic qualifications and as a confident, well rounded student ready to face the challenges of University life or a demanding career. All of the above activities are worthwhile in themselves and extend your skills and experience; they also help us to give a more complete picture of you to employers and universities.
