Courses and Requirements

 
 

There are clear entry requirements, which each student must satisfy, in order to study in the Sixth Form at Cleeve. These requirements are designed to help to ensure that you will be able to achieve success in the Sixth Form. If you have any questions about these requirements, these should be directed to the Head of Sixth Form in the first instance.

For All Courses and Combinations

  • You must meet the requirements, for the subjects you wish to study. (see subject inserts)
  • The Heads of Department must agree to enrol you in the subjects you wish to study.
  • You must achieve a minimum grade C for both GCSE Mathematics and English Language. Failure to achieve these grades upon entry to Cleeve will result in retaking these courses in compulsory afterschool sessions in Year 12.

AS and Applied AS courses

  • You must achieve a minimum of 4 grade B’s and 1 grade C at GCSE.
  • For all subjects you wish to study at AS level a minimum grade B must be achieved in that, or an associated subject.

BTEC/Nationals

  • You must achieve a minimum of 4 Grade C’s in 4 different subjects at GCSE.
  • For all subjects you wish to study at BTEC or National a minimum grade C must be achieved in that, or an associated subject.

Combined AS and BTEC/National courses

  • You must achieve a minimum of 4 Grade C’s in 4 different subjects at GCSE.
  • or all subjects you wish to study at AS level a minimum grade B must be achieved in that, or an associated subject.
  • For all subjects you wish to study at BTEC or National a minimum grade C must be achieved in that, or an associated subject.
