Cleeve School

Sixth Form Pastoral

Throughout your course of study at Cleeve, you will be offered comprehensive pastoral support. All students are placed in a tutor group of about 20 students. The group has its own personal tutor who will usually remain with the group for two years.

Your tutor will see you daily; once in the morning for a five minute registration, and also in the afternoon for a longer session in which sessions will be given on mentoring, study skills and the Extended Project Qualification. This daily contact with your tutor allows you to construct a positive and mature relationship in which any concerns or queries can be dealt with promptly and effectively.

As well as the tutor, the Head of Sixth Form and other members of the Sixth Form Leadership Team will be available to offer help and guidance. Specifically, Miss Smith, as the Sixth Form Coordinator can be found in the Sixth Form building at any point in the day to answer queries, deal with EMA enquiries and provide pastoral support. Miss Ashford will be supporting students who may have academic difficulties or are performing under their target grades. Mr Peterken will be providing guidance and support on UCAS applications for University and also the Extended Project. Finally Mr Slatter will be available for any initial careers advice that students may require as well as working with the Sixth Form Student Leadership team to ensure that your voice is heard.

Being part of a tutor group ensures that all students- especially those who have joined us from other schools, feel at home in our Sixth Form community from the very start. We look forward to welcoming you in September.
