Your Questions Answered

Below are a list of frequently asked questions from parents. If you can't find the answer to your question on our web site, please email us your query and we will reply with the answer.

Q: Can I download the school calendar for next academic year?
Term dates
Q: How often will I receive reports and assessments?
A: Assessment data will be shared with you three times a year at mentoring. A written report will be available in the second mentoring meeting in the Spring Term.
Q: What do I do if my child wants to come home for lunch?
A: They need to obtain a lunchtime pass. Parents need to complete a form available from student reception to confirm their consent.
Q: What are the uniform cards for?
A: To encourage students to dress smartly. We believe that a smart approach to dress will mean students have a smart approach to their work. It is also important to prepare students for the workplace where standards of dress may be expected. Each time a student is stopped by a member of staff not wearing their uniform correctly they will have their 'uniform card' signed. Three signatures in a half term will result in a lunchtime detention with senior staff. Lost cards will also result in a lunchtime detention.
Q: What are clean slates?
A: A method of rewarding students who do everything we expect in terms of behaviour and personal organisation. Each week every student who has met these expectations will be rewarded with a house credit.

Wherever possible parents are asked to make payment for trips and other activities by cheque. Cheques should be in a sealed envelope along with any necessary consent forms or other documents. Please write on the envelope the name of the trip or event, your child’s name and tutor group. Small payments of around £1.50 can be made in cash but again in an envelope with the same information.
