Cleeve School

INTERNATIONAL NEWS. July 2008

25th Anniversary of the French Exchange between Guingamp and Bishops Cleeve.

After what seems a life time of the French Exchange it has finally reached 25 years. It all started of with our old head of French Mrs Turner going into a ‘wet, cold and damp looking town. It didn’t look very appealing’ over 20 years ago and the rest as they say is history. From then onwards we have being going to Albert Camus College and they have been coming back to Cleeve Comp. fountain
For the students and parents it is an amazing experience that no one can forget as they are so good. From knowing nothing in French and English to being able to speak confident French/ English is a real achievement for us. But it isn’t all about the confidence, it also so much fun going on the day trips, meeting new people and being able to see cultures in a different way.
I went on the 25th French Exchange this year and I have never had such a great in my school life. I am more understanding in my French and so are my friends.
I believe that the teachers over the past 25 years have been amazing as without them we wouldn’t have been able to have this once in a life time experience. Thank you to Mrs Turner and everyone involved in the past 25 years and for all those who go in the next 25 years, you’ll love it!!!
