25 Years of the French Exchange: Cleeve School – Collège Albert Camus

This year marks the 25th anniversary of our year 9 French exchange, and on Friday 27th June we are holding a special reception for our French visitors. Following the successful French visit, Kerry Alford in year 9 wrote about the week in Brittany.

“We met at school on the morning of Saturday 31st May at 8.45 a.m. and left school to start our journey to France. On board the ferry lots of people sunbathed, relaxed and prepared for meeting their families in France.

After a long and tiring journey we arrived in the French town of Guingamp at midnight where we met our families with whom we would be living for the next week.

On the first morning I think everyone had mixed emotions, they were excited, yet apprehensive as they didn’t know what was lying ahead for them.

I think the best part of the trip was when we were all together in the day as we could tell each other what we had learned and what we had been doing, and we got to listen to all the exciting activities people had done.

Sadly, there has to be the worst part for everyone, and that was saying goodbye!”
