Outdoor education & duke of edinburgh
At Cleeve School we pledge to all our students the opportunity to engage in Outdoor Learning.
We believe that spending time in the outdoors, collaborating with other students and outside agencies will transform the lives of out students.
We are lucky to have an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on our doorstep and seek to provide opportunities for all students, particularly those who find it difficult to make use of opportunities around them.
Outdoor learning really can build lifelong skills of collaboration, perseverance and overcoming challenges. It really can make a huge difference.
Cam and Bear Fund of Adventure
This year, we have been lucky enough to benefit from financial support from charitable organisation, Cam and Bear. Set up in memory of adventure-loving Andy Foster who tragically died in a climbing accident, Cam and Bear donate funds to outdoor education provisions and individual students, to allow those students who wouldn't usually have had the opportunity, to participate in a range of outdoor activities including the Duke of Edinburgh award. It has allowed us to ensure that all Year 9 students are able to part in the award, and is helping Year 12 students on their way to achieving Gold.
