Year 12 and 13
As part of the transition to Sixth Form, during the first Enrichment Day, Sixth Form students from Years 12 and 13 will work together to carry out many problem-solving tasks. This involves an outdoor hike up on Cleeve Common solving problems involving a Geocache treasure hunt. This is an opportunity for the older students to support the new Sixth Form students and build relationships that will carry forward on their post-16 journey.
Sixth Form students can begin their Gold Duke of Edinburgh award programme which they have until the age of 25 to complete. Most students begin their programme in Year 12 involving completing a physical activity, volunteering activity, skill activity and a residential programme. There will be two lengthy and challenging expedition activities- usually in more wild country. This is a very challenging and rewarding programme. We use an experienced activity provider to provide the expedition in terrain like the Brecon Beacons or Dartmoor.
